I think you should keep the image in colour, as the colours in the guitar stand out! Although it depends if the colour scheme for your fonts etc match this! :)
I like your model, he's fit! Just kidding of course, in all seriousness I think that he works really well and you got some good colour scheme going on here. For the colour background, I'm not sure if I would like it black or white? I'm torn Chloe, torn. But I would suggest to stay clear from black since that might blend in with the model and make him all invisiblely.
